Parents faq

faq1  How will Move It help my child?
The Move It Challenge is a fun activity for all children aged 7-11 regardless of their weight. It aims to teach children about the benefits of being active – helping them enjoy a fitter, healthier and happier lifestyle.
faq2  Why should I get involved?
Although the Move It Challenge has been introduced to your child at school, the whole family can benefit from being more active together. Children are not just encouraged to do more sport but also to walk more, clean up around the house and just generally be more active.
faq3  I think my child might be overweight
Most of us know that being overweight isn’t healthy. But it can be hard to tell if a child is overweight just by looking at them. Our advice is to work out your child’s BMI (Body Mass Index) to see whether he or she is a healthy weight for their age and height. You can do this with the MEND BMI calculator here.
faq4  Who are MEND?
MEND empowers children and adults to become fitter, healthier and happier. Our family programmes are run in local communities and are free to attend. To find out more, visit our website, www.mendcentral.org
